We will check into our hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 3 WEDNESDAY Amalfi Coast, Naples, Pozzuoli After breakfast, we will begin our journey with a panoramic tour to Amalfi. The Amalfi Coast, connecting Sorrento with Amalfi, is widely considered Italy’s most scenic stretch of coastline, a of towering bluffs, pastel-hued villages such as Positano and Praiano terraced into hillsides, precipitous corniche roads, luxuriant gardens, and expansive vistas over turquoise waters and green-swathed mountains. In the afternoon on our return we will have a panoramic view of the Bay of Naples where we will be able to observe its seaport and have breathtaking views of Mt. Vesuvius. DAY 4 THURSDAY Pompei, Minturno, Foro Appio After breakfast, we depart for Pompeii, where we will be joined by our local guide to have an archeological journey through the ancient city. Buried under a layer of ashes and pyroclastic flow by a sudden eruption of Vesuvius in 79 CE, the city shows us Roman life frozen in time. It is through understanding the context of this ime period that we can understand Paul’s preaching. People who walked these streets were of the generation of the early apostles,t and Paul’s message had reached there long before the eruption. Paul walked many a Roman city that looked as Pompeii does, and the imagery of the Epistles to those cities is nowhere more easily pictured. We will visit houses, shops, temples, squares, streets and even some of the darker quarters of the city, such as the “Lupanare” (house of prostitutes) and the “Suburbane Thermae“ (with its graphic frescos). As we make our way north, we will rejoin the ancient Appian roadway traveled by Paul, stopping at the partially restored ruins of the Roman village of Minturno. A quiet site, the open plan of the site, together with the lack of other crowds will allow us to reflect on the implications of understanding the setting and people of these suburban areas to ministry of Paul and the Apostles. We continue on for our overnight in Foro Appio in the nearby “Mansio Hotel” A mansio was an official stopping place along a Roman road maintained by the central government for the use of officials and those on official business whilst travelling. In such a place, Paul could have hosted the early believers and drawn some encouragement. Our evening will include a unique experience with a dinner based on some ancient traditional Roman recipes. DAY 5 FRIDAY Foro Appio, Romanfora, Palatine, Colosseo, San Clemente, St. Prisca After a hearty breakfast, we will depart Foro Appio and make our way to the Eternal City. Following some of the high points of Roman history, we will address “how Romans told their story” in “Pompa Processions” and architecture like that of Emperor Trajan’s Column, a jewel of architecture and sculpture. We will begin our walking tour along the Via dei Fori Imperiali and observe the ruins of the Imperial center of Rome. Other important edifices, like the Forum of Trajan, the biggest and most splendid of markets of its time, became the forerunners of our modern malls and commercial complexes. They offered to the Roman citizen the full array of goods of the Roman world. We will view the Capitoline Hill, the former political and religious center of the town, which today is the seat of the Municipality of Rome. The stairway opens to the Piazza del Campidoglio, amagnificent result of a project by Michelangelo, built around a copy of the most famous equestrian statue world, that of the stoic Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Behind Piazza del Campidoglio a natural terrace will offer us the best panoramic view of the valley of the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. From the Forum we can view the Palatine Hill. Here is the home of the mythical Remus and Romulus who is said to have founded the town in the year 753 BCE. We will view the Mammertime Prison and our visit to the Arch of Constantine, will remind us of the victory of the emperor over Maxentius in the 4th century CE that gave rise to the legalization and later adoption of Christianity. Our visit to the city center will end at the Colosseum, an everlasting symbol of the greatness of Rome and the stage for the historical fights of the gladiators where thousands of people and animals perished. After a break for lunch, we will visit the Basilica of San Clemente. Clement was an early Roman convert to Christ, and we will take this opportunity to talk about the people that were responding to the first wave of the Gospel in Rome. We will be reminded of the early companions of Paul, traveling to the Aventine Hill to the traditional home of Priscillla and Aquila, (based on a C5th CE document) now located below the Church of Santa Prisca. After our visit, we will make our way to our hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 6 SATURDAY Vatican Museums, St. Peter's Basilica, Rome Sights This morning we will be overwhelmed by the art and beauty found in our visit the Vatican Museums. Your guide will show you the Apartments of Julius II, splendidly decorated by Raphael and his assistants, and then the Sistine Chapel, where you will admire one of the highest masterpieces of art: the Genesis and the Last Judgment by Michelangelo, that have gained their original splendor after the latest restorations. Leaving the Sistine Chapel and going down the Royal Stairway, projected by Bernini, the guide will conduct you to the Basilica of St. Peter which gathers inside 2000 years of history and famous works of art such as the Pieta by Michelangelo. The visit ends at St Peter’s Square. This afternoon we enjoy some leisure time…. Have lunch at Trevi Fountain, walk on Condotti Street in the fashion district of Spanish Steps, visit Piazza Navona or the Panteon… Return to hotel to relax before a Farewell dinner. DAY 7 SUNDAY San Paola Alla Regola, Tres Tabernaes, Saint Paul's Outside the Walls With yesterday’s sketch of the Roman world and its imperial center in mind, we begin the day following the steps of St. Paul, recalling both his first and second visits to the city, as well as setting the execution in both geography and history. We will begin our visit the Insula di San Paolo alla Regola, an important possible place for Paul’s first visit and house arrest in about 62 CE. This place references the early belief that “Paul took a rented horreum” where he could likely invite, teach and comfort the small but growing Christian community. From this possible site of Paul’s outreach we will travel to the “Abbey of the Three Fountains” – the place of Paul’s martyrdom. We journey next to the Basilica of “St. Paul Outside the Walls” on the Via Ostiense, the resting place for the body of Paul. After recalling the work of the Apostle Paul, we will continue to the northern end of the ancient Via Appia, to visit the Catacombs of Santa Domitilla. Early Christian art and history are preserved below ground at these early burial and memorial places, with some markings suggesting celebration of the anniversaries of Christian martyrs (following similar Roman customs). We will board our bus and time allowing continue our Roman visit at Basilica of San John di Lateran, which became among the most important Christians Churches of Rome. When Constantine opened the Roman world to Christianity, his apparent conversion was symbolized by the donation of a significant family property for this Basilica. The important Lateran Baptistery reminds us of the many early converts to the faith, and the process of moving it from a rogue influence to a sponsored and ordered faith. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. DAY 8 MONDAY Rome, USA We will be taken to the airport for our flight home. We will cherish the memories of Paul the Apostles life that changed the course of man. Meals served on board. DAY 2 TUESDAY Istanbul / Thessaloniki Today we arrive at Thessaloniki, named after Alexander the Great’s sister. The city features prominently in the New Testament, at which time this provincial capital was considered a world cultural center. This community was the center of Paul’s activities in Northern Greece. It is where he preached and founded a church, and he wrote two epistles to the people of Thessaloniki (Acts 17:1-9; 1 Thessalonians; 2 Thessalonians). This evening we enjoy a welcome dinner at our hotel. DAY 3 WEDNESDAY Philippi / Kavala / Thessaloniki Today we tour along the ancient route of the Apostle Paul to Amphipolis (Acts 17:1). Our journey takes us to ancient Philippi, which was named after the father of Alexander the Great. This busy Roman colony boasted a great library and theater. In Philippi, Paul preached and established the first church in Europe, and it was the people of Philippi to whom he wrote one of his epistles while imprisoned in Rome (Acts 16:11-40; Philippians). It was in this area that Paul met Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She and her household accepted Christ and were baptized in the nearby river (Acts 16:11-15). Next we continue to Kavala, ancient port of Neapolis (Acts 16:9-11). We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 4 THURSDAY Thessaloniki / Veria / Kalambaka This morning we stop in Veria (Beroea of the New Testament), where Paul and Silas were sent by friends after being accused of treason in Thessalonika (Acts 17:5-15). We visit the Bema, where Paul is said to have stood and preached the Gospel to the local community. Next we continue to Kalambaka to see the striking scenery of the “Hanging Monasteries”. Perched on top of huge rocks that seem to be suspended in mid-air are ageless monasteries where we can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. There are 24 monasteries in total, with 6 currently inhabited. We visit one of them before checking into our hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 5 FRIDAY Kalambaka / Athens Today we depart our hotel and drive to Athens. We stop at Thermopylae, the location where the Greeks victoriously fought for their freedom during the Greco-Persian wars in 480 BC. We see the statue of Leonidas, king of the Greek city-state Sparta. Next we continue to Athens, where we have a panoramic orientation tour and may have some free time to explore the Plaka. Dinner and overnight in Athens. DAY 6 SATURDAY Athens Today in Athens we visit the Acropolis, the Parthenon, Areopagus, and Mars Hill, where the Apostle Paul delivered his well-known sermon (Acts 17:15-34). We see the Acropolis Museum, then have a panoramic tour of the Parliament House, the Academy, Omonia Square, and Panathenaic Stadium. We have free time in the Plaka area, the ancient city of Athens. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. DAY 7 SUNDAY Athens / Corinth / Nafplio Today we drive to Corinth to visit the archaeological site where the Apostle Paul worked for 18 months with tentmakers Aquila and Priscilla (Acts 18:1-18). We also see the handmade Corinth Canal connecting the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea. Next we stop and see the ancient port of Cenchrea, where Paul stopped during his mission to the area. We learn about Isthmus, a trade center where Paul visited to spread the word between the crowds. Next we make our way to the beautiful seaport town of Nafplio, the first capital of Greece and a location rich in Venetian architecture, cobbled squares, and towering castles with commanding views of the Argolic Gulf. Here we view the water castle of Bourtzi and Palamidi Castle (note there are 999 steps to the top of the castle so, time permitting, we may have the option to climb to the top for an impressive view of the gulf). We return to Athens for dinner and overnight. DAY 8 MONDAY Athens / USA Today we say goodbye to Athens as we drive to the airport for our flight back home, filled with great memories of our time in Greece. Day by Day POST-TOUR: AEGEAN CRUISE DAY 1 MONDAY Athens / Mykonos This morning we travel to the port of Piraeus for our Aegean Cruise. Late this afternoon we arrive at our first stop: Mykonos, the mythological site of a battle between Zeus and the Titans. This hilly, rock-ribbed island is dotted with more than 350 tiny chapels built by 19th-century pirates for the protection of their patron saints. We have time to visit this fishing harbor with shops and boutiques selling handmade clothing, fabrics, jewelry, and other local items before we return to our ship for overnight. DAY 2 TUESDAY Kusadasi / Patmos This morning our ship takes us to Kusadasi, a beach resort in Turkey famous for its marina and its colorful bazaar. Here visitors can find a wide selection of hand-made carpets, leather bags, and other local products. Even more notably, Kusadasi is known for its proximity to the ancient ruins of Ephesus and its Terrace Houses, one of the world’s largest open-air museums, the House of the Virgin Mary (a house where Mary lived in her final years), and the village of Şirince. This afternoon our ship takes us to Patmos (Revelation 1:9), a beautiful, verdant island where Saint John the Evangelist wrote the book of Revelation. Atop its highest hill, within the halls of Hora, stands the monastery founded in his honor in 1088. This island, apart from its great significance to Christians all over the world, is now turning into a cosmopolitan destination. We enjoy a shore excursion to Saint John’s Monastery and the Grotto of the Apocalypse before returning to our ship for dinner and overnight. DAY 3 WEDNESDAY Rhodes This morning we arrive at the island of Rhodes, a city visited by the Apostle Paul (Acts 21:1). Separated from the Asia Minor coast by a mere 10-mile strait, Rhodes is blessed by nature with exceptional gifts. Homer called it “the Bride of the Sun,” and later poets “the Island of Roses.” In the Middle Ages, the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem established themselves at Rhodes and built a fortified city, now the best-preserved of its kind in the Mediterranean area. We are amazed by the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We take another shore excursion to Philerimos Church and Palace of the Knights before dinner and overnight on our ship. DAY 4 THURSDAY Crete / Santorini This morning we arrive in Heraklion, the capital of Crete. This former Venetian harbor hosts an archaeological museum with invaluable treasures, and Crete itself was the site of Titus’s ministry (Titus 1:5, 12; Acts 27:8). Our tour of the city takes us on a short drive to the Minoan Palace of Knossos, home to Europe’s oldest civilization (7,000 BC!). We have the opportunity to sightsee or walk the city center for shopping or dining. In the afternoon we continue our cruise to Santorini, one of the most renowned places in the world. People travel thousands of miles to admire its unique geography, the result of an earthquake many centuries ago. Our final shore excursion takes us to the picturesque village of Oia, located on the caldera rim 300 meters above the sea, before returning to our ship. DAY 5 FRIDAY Athens / USA This morning our tour comes to a close as we arrive at Lavrion, the port of Athens. We return to the airport for our journey home (Numbers 6:24–26), reveling in our unforgettable experiences in the lands of Greece. Day by Day POST-TOUR: SARONIC ISLAND CRUISE DAY 1 MONDAY Hydra / Egina / Poros After transferring from Athens to Piraeus by motor coach, we set sail for the island of Hydra, where we have free time for strolling, shopping, and swimming. Next, it's on to the island of Egina, passing through the narrow strait separating the Peloponnesian coast from the island of Poros. Upon arrival in Egina (Aegina) we have the option of joining an excursion to the Temple of Aphaia (cost not included) or taking a walk around the main town. One of the Saronic Islands of Greece in the Saronic Gulf, the lovely Egina is only 31 miles from Athens, and is a popular getaway for Athenians during the summer months. After lunch served on board we sail to Poros in the southern Agrosaronic Gulf. We have free time to explore Poros - we could visit ancient Trizina, the ruins of the Russian Dockyard, or take a romantic stroll in the Lemon Forest. After sailing back to Piraeus port we are transferred to our hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 2 TUESDAY Athens / USA This morning we return to the airport for our flight back home, filled with great memories of our time in Greece. *The trip will take place in case of a group of 16 people * * The route, as well as the order of visiting places, may be changed due to quarantine restrictions, as well as for safety reasons or due to the weather, road repair work etc. Reviews

Nebo, from where God showed Moses the Promised Land. This afternoon we take a short drive to the recently discovered baptismal site of “Bethany beyond the Jordan” For us Christians, the most significant event associated with the River Jordan is undoubtedly the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ by John the Baptist. It is strongly suggested that this took place very close to Beit Abara, where Joshua, Elijah and Elisha crossed the river. In the New Testament times, it became known as Bethany, the village of John the Baptist. (This Bethany is not to be confused with the village of Bethany near Jerusalem, where the Bible says Lazarus was raised from the dead) “ The Bible clearly records that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist (Matthew 3: 13-17), and that John the Baptist lived, preached and baptized in the village of Bethany, on “the other side of the Jordan” (John 1: 28). The baptism site, known in Arabic as al-Maghtas, is located at the head of a lush valley just east of the Jordan River. It is now protected and since 1999 it is accessible to visitors. After Jesus’ baptism at Bethany, he spent forty days in the wilderness west of the River Jordan, where he fasted and resisted the temptations of Satan (Mark 1: 13, Matthew 4: 1-11).” Continue north to the Sheik Hussein border where we cross into Israel and continue on to Tiberias where we are taken to our hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 7 This morning we enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the Sea of Galileeto Capernaum, then visit Tabgha and the Mount of Beatitudes. In the afternoon we follow the Rift Valley running parallel to the Jordan, along the route Jesus most frequently traveled to Jerusalem. We visit Beth Sheanat the foot of Mt. Gilboa, where King Saul was slain, see the evidences of Egyptian, Roman and Byzantine occupations, and view the ancient tel, Roman Theater and church mosaics. Our last stop today will be at the Jordan Riverwhere we will have the opportunity to be baptized, then transfer to the hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight. DAY 8 “We are going up to Jerusalem.” (Matt. 20:18). We drive west to Nazareth. Traveling through Cana of Galilee where Jesus performed his first Miracle, turning water into wine (John 2). We proceed to Nazareth and Ascend Mount of the Precipice at the brow of Nazareth to an overlooking surveying the Valley of Jezreel, synonymous with Armageddon. We then drive through the valley to the mound of Megiddo, Har Megiddoin Hebrew, which gave its name to Armageddon. We then ascend Mt. Carmel, site of Elijah’s confrontation with the prophets of Baal. From there we drive towards the Mediterranean coast traveling south along the coastal highway to Caesarea by the Sea. We enter Caesarea Maritima to explore this Roman bridgehead to the east, which became the Christian springboard to the west. After the visit this ancient harbor, we board our bus and we head up the historic Beth Horon road (Joshua 10:10) to the Benjamin Plateau, passing ancient Gibeon and continuing on to Jerusalem. Finally, atop Mt. Scopus, we behold majestic Jerusalem. Check in to our hotel for dinner and overnight stay. DAY 9 Today we drive to Masada and ascend by cable car to the magnificent ruins of the fortress where, from 70 to 73 AD, Jewish defenders made their last stand in the Judean revolt against Rome. We see the remains of storehouses, cisterns and a sixth-century Byzantine church. Continuing alongside the Dead Sea, 1300 ft. below sea level — the lowest spot on earth — we proceed to Ein Gedi, where time permitting we will walk the path to see the waterfall in the desert. This afternoon we continue to Qumran. and the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We will have a stop for lunch and for those that want to swim in the Dead Seamay. We then walk the traditional Passion walk. We descend to the church known as Dominus Flevit (“Our Lord weeps”). After viewing the Golden Gate, we walk downhill to Gethsemane, where we take time to meditate on the Gospel text. Boarding our bus (If you want you may walk by the tomb of the kings) and get off at a roman road, where we climb Mt Zion to the grounds of a church called Peter in Gallicantu, which affords the best view of early Jerusalem from the west. (Here, the Assumptions Fathers suggest, was the house where the High Priest Caiaphas interrogated Jesus.) We drive to Dung gate and enter where we will stop at the Steps that entered the temple. It was here that Jesus would have taught the disciples. See a video that shows the temple as it was at Solomon’s time. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10-11). We drive south to the region of Bethlehem, passing Rachel’s Tomb on the outskirts of Bethlehem. Passing the monastery of Hortus Conclusus (“the sealed garden”) in Artas, we go to Herodion, the palace set in a conical mountain built by Herod to mark his tomb which was in the news lately with the recent discovery of Herod’s Tomb. Note the juxtaposition of the two Kings of the Jews. The King Herod buried in great opulence and the King of the Jews born in a humble manger in Bethlehem sitting in the background of the Herodium. We then drive to one of the possible sites for Shepherds’ Fields. We continue into Bethlehem itself, walking through the restored old town to the Church of the Nativity and visiting the manger and see the cave of St. Jerome. We drive back to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight. DAY 11 “He has risen!” (Mark 16:6) After breakfast we transfer to the Dung Gate, we walk up to the Western WallJudaism’s holiest site. We ascend to the Dome of the Rock and the al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site of Islam, located on the traditional site of the ancient Temple Mount. It is believed that here is where the Temple once stood. Just to the north we find the Pools of Bethesda (John 5) and St. Anne’s Church, the church is perfectly preserved from the Crusader period – with remarkable acoustics. We then follow the Way of the Cross (Via Dolorosa)through the bazaars to the Holy Sepulcher. From there we walk through the Christian Quarter along the Arab Souks and past the Armenian Quarter. This afternoon we will walk out to the Damascus Gate and go to the Garden Tomb where we will end our day with a special visit and the possibility of having a private communion on the grounds outside the city walls.
